Homework
Homework is an extension of what is learned in class. Students will have spelling, math, writing and reading throughout the week and should be able to complete the activities in about 20 minutes along with nightly reading. A homework packet will be given out on Mondays. Homework is returned daily in the GOLDEN GOPHER FOLDER for homework completion "check off." Parents are encouraged to monitor and support that students are completing their homework with effort by placing a signature on the nightly homework agenda. Homework packets are collected on Fridays for grading and returned the following week. Please encourage your student to give his/her best on all assignments.

Why Reading is Important in 2nd Grade:
Reading Chart

Welcome to Mrs. Whitney's page. During the first trimester students will be focusing on our I.B. Unit Who We Are and Where We are in Place and Time. In our first unit, Who We Are, we will be exploring the benefits of selfless acts and how relationships help one another. In our second unit, Where We are in Place and Time, we will be discovering changes in daily life and people who made a difference in our past. I'm excited to experience the growth your child will make in reading, writing, and mathematics in the first trimester. Students will be growing like bean stalks in room 26.

Smiles,
Mrs. Whitney
